I don't think that applies if you are USING the phone (i.e. to surf the net in this case.)

It did point me to the idea of putting in the earbuds, so I guess I can do that, at least.
So why is it that I have my phone on silent mode and the 'volume' all the way on mute, but some websites still blast their sound when surfing on the phone?
Have I missed a setting somewhere?
Honestly I wish that NO internet site would make ANY sound unless I specifically enable it, but on my computer I can at least mute the speakers. Is there an equivalent in the iPhone?
