Google calendar events disappeared!

Last night numerous events entered on my Google calendar just disappeared into thin air.  The events were all in November and October -- but not all events in those months disappeared.

Just before they disappeared, my computer shut down on its own.  I restarted it without problem. All my open apps and tabs came right back up. The only thing different was the missing calendar events.

I tried closing/re-opening the calendar, clearing my cache, refreshing the page. Nada.

Is this familiar to anyone? How can events just disappear?

Hi Shoshannah, I'm no expert in this at all, but I would start by checking if you have all of your regularly used calendar inputs checked and on, if you do that.  For example, I have a separate color for work items, family items, medical items, etc, and each is set up with a separate "calendar", all of which become integrated in the color coded google calendar.  For one reason or another, if one calendar is unchecked, eg medical, then all of my medical dates go missing until rechecked.  Also, I had a calendar for my phone that was not syncing with my PC, so I stopped saving things to my phone calendar thread after realizing that, and just used the phone to sync to other calendar categories.  The calendars that I use are all listed on the calendar on the left of the google calendars page.  

Thanks @Jasmo. I had thought of that. All of the categories are checked. Besides, the disappeared events are not consistently in one category -- and within categories some events are missing and some are not.  It seems that the missing events were all added within the last 2-3 weeks.  All calendar entries before then are fine.

My husband and I both have things disappear on occasion.  I don’t have an answer for you unfortunately.

I have a large wall calendar and I write all my appointments on there so when things vanish from my other calendar I still have them written down.

 Thanks. Yeah, I quickly screen shotted the rest of my calendar going forward one year.  I think I'll have to get a paper system.
