Facebook Malware warning - is this legit?

I suddenly received a "you need to login" popup message from Facebook and pressed enter on the login (prefilled by my password manager) without thinking.  But then when I started to navigate Facebook, I was presented with the main login screen.  It occurred to me that I shouldn't be doing this so then I went to my phone and changed my Facebook password there.  But when I logged onto Facebook on my computer again I got the same thing.  After logging in, I see these screens in sequence.  Is Facebook really helping me with some malware here or are these screens the malware?

(As we speak, I am running a malwarebytes scan on my computer.  It hasn't detected anything so far, but is not done yet.)

I did NOT download the program from the second screen.

Sounds scamish to me.

Don't run anything or download anything from another website.

Surprisingly, it IS legit. If Facebook detects a strange pattern of behavior it'll prompt you for a scan.

Yeah, looks like it's legit. I still wouldn't do it, though. I have my own software for that.

Facebook won't let me continue without doing it.  (So if it IS legit, then I'll do it, but I wanted to be sure.)

don't do it.  These online scanners typically case more problems than they cure.  And they will try and upsell you other services.

Too late ... I went ahead and did it, but it didn't turn up anything.  I've changed my password and am hoping for the best.
