Emergency vet clinic

I can't find the old posts about this right now... What emergency vet clinic do you recommend? We need to take our beagle in ASAP. She's been lethargic for a day or so but we thought it was just the heat. But when we came home today she's not even getting up off the couch, which is NOT normal. It seems like she's having trouble moving

Oh gosh, I'm so sorry.....fingers crossed for a good checkup!

I hope everything is ok. Westfield saved our little girl when she downed a box of chocolate. Let us know how it goes. Paws crossed

Thank you all for your concern! It appears she has some pretty major lower back pain. The vet said it was really obvious in the exam. We did bloodwork to rule out a bacterial infection or tick disease, but we decided to wait a little while on an X-ray. We'll do that if it doesn't get better soon. So for now, we just need to get her to rest (no stairs, short walks) and give her pain pills twice a day- which is no small feat!

Unfortunately, we're going on vacation and will have a pet/house sitter taking care of her. I am a little anxious about it, but it also doesn't seem serious enough that we need to cancel our trip or anything.

I'm glad Westfield came through for you - we recently had an incident with our dog who ate a bag of raisins and they took great care of him, for a relatively reasonable cost.

If it turns out your dog has a disc issue rather than a muscle strain, I'd be happy to share resources on that since our guy went through it a few years but has since fully recovered.

I hope your guy is feeling better asap!

Thank you!! The vet didn't think it was a disc injury but if it doesn't get better in a week or two we'll reassess.

We did bring our vacation up to the vet and he didn't think it would be a problem so that made us feel better
