ELI IS DONE

Gotta love the Giants.  A late season surge that guarantees they don't get the top draft pick this year.
Would you rather have the quarterback who was taken with the 10th pick playing for the Chiefs, or any of the guys in the league taken with a top 3 pick?
Good scouting and coaching can land a team a franchise QB at any spot the first round.

Guessing the chiefs got lucky  they did not have the third pick, although I think over the next 10 years Darnold will turn out to be a good qb.

but going back to thread title  ---- Eli looked ok yesterday although still clear his best days are well behind him.

The Chiefs were not lucky.  They knew they had a great talent.

Chiefs trade up for QB Mahomes

And it's clear from the article that their scouts were the only ones who saw what they saw.

At the time, the 1999 draft was hailed as the deepest for QBs since the 1983 gold mine. Five of the first 12 picks were QBs, including the top three. Andy Reid, at No. 2, knew what he was doing even then.

And not for nothing, but a Giants win next Sunday ties them with the Eagles in the standings.

At the time, several outlets reported that the Giants had tried to trade up to draft up to draft Mahomes based on the fact that Ben McAdoo "loved" him. They had made the playoffs the year before and picked at #23 (Evan Engram), and KC apparently put together a better package.

Actually, the division is so weak that if the Giants beat the Eagles, Redskins, and Cowboys in their six remaining games they might even take the division.

Remember, Odell said they would run the table......

Darnold Stats:
55% completion rate, 1,934 yards, 11 TD, 14 INT, 68.3 rating
Barkley Stats:

728 yards rushing (158 attempts), 540 yards receiving (64 receptions), 10 TD

Darnold may not be the problem, but he's not the solution either.
Since when did a kid have to have a great year right out of college?  Is that what it has come to?  Draft one player, expect to make the playoffs?

If anyone expected the Jets to make the playoffs this year, they were smoking something.

However, who expected the Jets to get worse this year?  Last year they were 4-6 at this point in the season.

Jets have a tougher schedule this year than they did last year.   They are not playing any better or worse.  They have a lot of holes to fill and guessing they will have a new head coach as well.

Perhaps the title of this thread should be changed to "Shurmer is Done"?

How the hell can you NOT go with Barkley in the second half?  The guy was on FIRE in the first half.

To insure you get another good draft pick

First time watching the Jints all year and Barkley probably had 100 yards called back due to holding penalties on players not even in position to make a play. Def can't understand not featuring him some in second half.
