Creating a bar chart in a word document

I just need to create a simple 2 bar chart. I know how to insert a chart and I have the data, but I need the 2 bars to be different colors. It must be easy, yet it is eluding me...

Make chart in Excel and insert in Word. In Excel you will have color options.

Do you have an old version? Mine defaults to 2 colors.

Or, right click on the column whose color you want to change and select a different color under "fill"
