Cosby Guilty!

Info coming in now.

Guilty all 3 counts - up to 10 years per count.

Sounds like 22 months in jail is more likely or possible.

Good. I hope he dies in there. Pitiful amount of jail time for what he did in his lifetime. I hope this gives his victims a small amount of peace.

All survivors seem elated, even after what they endured - the lawsuits, the public humiliation.

Anyone else waiting for DJT to say what a fine man Cosby is?

Wonder if he's thinking about his own situation in light of Cosby verdict.

Justice is good, and the survivors deserve it.  Still, I feel a little sad that this is how he will be remembered.  And glad that my mom & sister did not live to see or hear about it.

And the man who lectured fellow comics about how terrible it is that they work   "blue" ... lashed out with vitriol and cussing at the Prosecutor.

He is going to find out what sexual assault means. Shortly.

Ever notice how the rich and famous still get out on bail after conviction?

“Enough of that,” said Judge O’Neill, who said he did not view Mr. Cosby as a flight risk and could be released on bail, but he would have to surrender his passport and remain in his nearby home.

Prison rape isn't as funny as you think. A lot of the victims are folks who did nothing to deserve such a horrific punishment and the perpetrators are, by definition, all rapists.

Amazing that a guy who was doing what he was doing to women was in high dudgeon over kids' language.

"Let me tell you something," Cosby, one of America's most admired men, told the group. "Your dirty laundry gets out of school at 2:30 every day, it's cursing and calling each other [the N-word] as they're walking up and down the street. They think they're hip. They can't read. They can't write. They're laughing and giggling, and they're going nowhere."

In the case of Cosby, it would be poetic justice.

I feel a lot sadder that he was able to rape and assault dozens of women over the years while making tons of $ and being worshipped by all.

DJT would never say Cosby is a fine man for the simple reason that Cosby is a black man.

Right, but people justify an practice that hurts thousands of individuals who really REALLY don't deserve it by suggesting that it provides justice to folks like Cosby.

I don't find it amazing at all. People who commit heinous acts are often sanctimonious.

His new sponsor is Jail-o.

Justice and vengeance are two different things. Cosby may be a terrible guy but to my knowledge he hasn't killed anyone. He hasn't dropped a bomb killing dozens at a time. He hasn't sent anyone to die in a useless war.

Had hasn't abused many small children over many years or covered up that sort of abuse by others.

He has hurt others and destroyed his own life. There are many far worse people in the world getting away with far worse crimes every day.

There are worse, there are better.  It is what it is.  An for what its worth - and it doesn't diminish his crimes or have any connection to them as far as I know - he's buried two children, including one who was murdered.  Not a completely charmed life.

Lol. Seriously? Yes maybe he’s not at the very top of the evil pile but he’s in the mix. We’re talking about rape, here.  That’s up there in the pretty serious crime list. I’d argue it’s up there pretty close to murder.

His headstone could read “well, at least he didn’t kill anyone.”

@LOST, why do you seem to defend him? Naming worse crimes doesn't make him look better, and why should anyone want him to look better?

Right.  There's always someone worse.  I mean, sure, Charles Manson was a monster but at least he wasn't a cannibal.....

Undoubtedly there are plenty of people who are worse than Cosby but, at the end of the day, Cosby is bad enough.

No defense, but NOBODY should have to endure prison rape.  That's just wrong, no matter what they may have done to get themself into prison.

 Um, DISAGREE.    1000%.

when a serial rapist gets to live his entire life as a rich, adored celebrity, all bets are off IMO. Whatever happens to him in prison is Karma. Whatever his formal sentience, it won’t fit the crime. The world’s got to even out somehow.

Does anyone really believe he's going to prison?

He has unlimited financial resources, he's 80 years old, and he can't see anymore.

His lawyers are going to appeal the crap out of this verdict.

exactly. He’ll never get justice. If he does go to prison it’ll be for a very short time.

I am not defending him. I am saying this:

The Constitution prohibits "cruel and unusual punishment".

I do not believe in Capital Punishment and I do not believe in rape as punishment.

I agree with sac and LOST. Rape is a horrible crime. Our justice system doesn't work by exacting retribution.

You think prison rape is just for rich celebrities?

First of all, Cosby isn't going to get raped.  His celebrity status and his age pretty much guarantees that he will be placed in protective custody.

Secondly, for every Cosby there are a thousand teen agers who got picked up for shop lifting or drunk and disorderly.  Get a clue.  Some of these kids contract HIV, some get hepatitis, some get lucky and just suffer the psychological aftereffects of rape for the rest of their lives.

Your dream of revenge which probably isn't going to happen is a very real nightmare for way too many people. Think about the folks you love.  I know from your posts that you have young people in your life, if they step on the wrong side of the law and end up doing a couple days in the can, this could be a very real nightmare for them.

Rape is wrong.  End of story.
