Corona Virus and Supply Chains: Would we do any better?

There is an interesting article on the potential breakdown in supply chains in China as travel restrictions start to impinge on food distribution. Millions of chickens may starve to death as farmers find it harder and harder to transport feed while cabbages are going for $9 if you can get them.

Studies have shown that most American cities have two to four days food on hand in stores and warehouses. One wonders how the NYC Metro area would do under similar circumstances.

Who knows.  The problem with China is that they first routinely suppress info and fail to act and then they overreact.  I find it kind of ironic that they've attacked the U.S. for imposing travel restrictions when they've internally quarantined - effectively imprisoned - tens of millions of their own citizens over this.
