For all those MOL readers who loved the CHS production of Ragtime this spring—and those who missed it but are curious—the Rising Star awards are being live-streamed on the web tomorrow night, Tue June 2. These awards from the Paper Mill Playhouse (they call them the Tony Awards for New Jersey high school theater) have been a somewhat elusive prize for CHS in recent years, but with CHS getting 14 nominations for this year’s production, we are all hoping for some well-deserved wins this time. Since our production was nominated for Outstanding Overall Production of a Musical, the CHS cast will be performing one musical number in full costume (like how each best movie nominee at the Oscars gets a short clip shown?), so if you missed it—or simply want to enjoy it again—tune in to the streamcast and cheer for our students.
