CDs I would like to sell

I have literally hundreds of music CDs I no longer listen to. Any ideas on how to sell them?

I would happily look through your collection and probably offer a dollar each. That seems to be the going rate for used CDs (altho I recently found some 2 for $1 at a flea market!)

You could try scanning the bar codes with the Amazon app on your smart phone or tablet. You'd get a quick idea if any are worth the trouble to sell them online. Some CDs are uncommon or out of release and could fetch a few bucks.

I also have maybe 200 as well. Does it make sense to rip them and save to back-up drive? I've been thinking about this for a while.

To me it does. And I did. I have held onto the CDs, however in case of harddrive failure.

Went by a store in Livingston Mall yesterdy that sells used CDs, maybe they buy them?

That's what I did. I also copied them to my WD Passport drive as a secondary backup.

Having the external WD Passport drive is a smart investment. Besides my music, I backup my financial statements and my documents.

Be sure to offer them to The Soulful Mr T. He is often interested in old CDs.

We spent a bunch of time selling off our CD collection. It takes a bit of time, but as mr incredible noted by quickly searching amazon/ebay we were able to determine which ones had meaningful value and which ones to sell to a bulk buyer or ultimately give away. Ended up netting a few hundred dollars by selling off the ones that had value.

Ain't no lie, Tom. I'd love to check out anyone's collection and buy some. My interests are generally speaking, R&B, World music, novelty, soul, funk, polka, comedy and new and old rock.

Not so much jazz, classical or current pop.

Please get in touch or post here.

The Soulful Mr T ("spinning" tunes betweeeen the bands at Maplewoodstock all weekend. Stop by and say hi.)

reposting in this- if anyone is interested in my CDs please PM me. There are hundreds of them, alphabetized and in special CD sleeves!

@country, where did you end up selling the individual CDs? And @The_Soulful_Mr_T, are you still collecting? I'm going through boxes of CDs now, even though I probably should get rid of them all. . . .

My computer does not have a CD player. How could I copy CDs to either the computer and/or an external drive?

You might want to re-post this on Virtual or Help so it has its own thread title to attract attention.

You can probably find an external CD/DVD drive to connect to you computer via USB . They are in the $20-30 range on Amazon. You might find one to borrow.

We sold our CD's that had any value on Amazon, and bulk ones here:

That's what I did. That's about what I paid for my external CD drive.
