We held a Daffodil Day at work on Thursday, for cancer awareness and research support. Not sure if you have Daffodil Day over there: it’s an annual event, for many years now, that focuses on the many positive messages around cancer awareness and treatment.
All staff wore something yellow; staff in one department made cardboard tiaras with daffodils ‘gems’ and matching daffodil brooches; we had vases of fresh daffodils everywhere and all client took home small bunches at the end of the day; matching bright yellow napkins; our menu featured golden ingredients; activities included talking about simple prevention steps (healthy diet, good exercise, sunscreen, etc), crafting everlasting daffodils, and playing quoits.
Excellent day! Next up, Talk Like a Pirate Day, 19 Sept, to focus on balance, and brain injuries
