There is a community vigil tonight (Saturday) at 7:30pm in the field at CHS.
I wonder what needs to be done at underhill in order to re-open it.
I really hope there’s an arrest soon.
Just the thought of someone with a gun, probably another high school student is very troubling to me. When my kids were in Columbia, they talked about the fighting that went on at under hill field after school. From what I gathered, there were a group of teenagers who ran out of the field after the gunshots. So someone saw what happened, someone knows the shooter. I just hope they come forward, and let the police get this person off the streets. Some say the two boys were walking through the field to go to another friends house to watch the boxing matching Sunday night.
whats going on in the field at night? I thought the gate was always locked when there’s no activity?
It's hard to believe the police would not have some solid information or leads by now. My guess is that there are good reasons why information has not been released to the public.
The people that know something may be too afraid to talk because the suspect or the suspect's friends might retaliate.

Let's hope.
It’s been a week since the murder. Maybe I missed it but I haven’t heard anything from the township committee. There is a killer out there somewhere. The public wants to be informed. We are not used to this horrible death.
If there is an active investigation, which would be handled by the prosecutor's office not the town, we won't hear anything until the matter is resolved. I am not sure what the township committee would know at this point that the rest of us reading this don't know.

Yes, the sign outside Underhill asking anyone with information to call gives the number for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office.

We have heard from the TC, they were well represented at the memorial service Saturday night
Unfortunately, as is social media, especially SOMA, the longer there's no word on the investigation, the bigger the blowup. Already, folks are attacking each other, using this as an argument for more police, BLM, cries of racism, etc. You name it, you'll find it on the various SOMA FB pages. It's horrifying really. Someone's little boy was murdered, this is the nightmare. I hope residents will remember this before they use this tragedy as an excuse to push whatever agenda they stand behind.
Essex County Prosecutor's Office offering a reward of $10,000 for information.

Probably not enough. When it goes to $25k, mouths will start flapping. That gets the kid a new car.
It was stressed by the Police Chief and the Mayor at the start of last evening's TC meeting that the MPD is receiving regular briefings from the County Prosecutors Office and that all leads are being considered. There are obvious reasons why details are not being shared with the public during an active investigation.

I’m all for cameras in the parks.
This shooting did not take place in a park.
Yes. It took place on an athletic field belonging to the school district.
Fred has raised another $20,000. Reward now up to $30k.
I wonder why the kid that was with moussa can not identify the shooter. Not even a sketch? This case is just very disturbing.

I agree. There even are no rumors. Nothing.
What is done to disseminate the reward information in Mpl. and into neighboring towns -- Union, Irvington, Newark (Ivy Hill)?

There are plenty of rumors among the high school students.

Information is all over social media and the hyper-local news outlets. I have even heard it announced on network news programs, which have covered the original shooting at Underhill Field.

Im figuring there needs to be reward posters on poles and in store windows...say WAWA.
What is the status of the victim who was wounded?
