I switched to Woolley from Petro a number of years ago. I have been happy with their service. It's an old Maplewood company.
We had Petro for about 5 years. Eventually I found their oil prices were higher than local suppliers. The techs are usually local contractors, or at least mine was.

A very old Maplewood company.
We switched to Essex Oil Co. a couple of years ago after Woolley let us run out of oil and then tried to sell us a new tank. Happy with their service so far.
Woolley rescued us from Supreme Energy. We’ve been VERY happy with them
I switched from Petro to JW Pierson last winter because Petro was charging $3.29/gallon and JW Pierson was charging $2.79. Also, Petro pissed me off by not showing up for my scheduled boiler service visit and not telling me that my appointment was cancelled until I called and asked after my time window was over. They said they had a high volume of emergency calls, too bad. I had that happen with another oil provider that also didn't seem regretful. Really? You couldn't call and tell me you're not coming?
I suspect oil companies get you to sign up with a low rate the first year and then hike it up in subsequent years. It's probably worth calling around every year.
I switched from Wooley (too expensive) to Apollo Oil several years ago and have been very happy.
Hi, thanks to all for your comments. My login didn't work for a while or I would have replied sooner. Of course, if the weather keeps up like this, I won't have to use the boiler at all!
Found a website called cashheatingoil.com with great prices. Ordered 200 gal on Friday for 2.23 a gallon and delivered the next day. My old guy was charging 2.85 a gallon.
Cost of oil is important but it's so good to have a reputable local company. They're right there in an emergency. The tank is filled without worrying that it might be empty. Workers are knowledgeable. By the way,oil prices recently lowered.

I'm not affiliated with the website in any way, but the company who delivered was from Union. I did a search on the company name before I confirmed delivery as well. I tend to shop around for many things so thought I'd share what seems to be a nice find for price shoppers. Due your own due diligence as with anything. I found a boiler guy on Craigslist years ago who installed my boiler for a steal price and he still services it yearly. Lol I've been bitten before shopping around but I'll save that story for another thread

What did you find wrong with Supreme Energy? We've been with them from the Schaible to Mitchell Supreme to Energy days and have been very happy with them. Mostly just curious.

Yes, we had Mitchell Supreme since 1982 and were very happy with them.
Then after the switchover they started missing what were supposed to have been aromatic deliveries. As a result of running the tank dry gunk would often jam up the works and someone had to come and service the boiler.
We put up with it for a year or two (and MANY phone calls) but gave up when the winter we had a new baby in the house and ran out THREE times (at a day and a half with no heat each time).
I just had sort of a temper tantrum and canceled them and signed up with Woolley the same day.
Been happy ever since...

I know it's just a typo, but aromatic deliveries is actually pretty funny.

Right you are - think I’ll let it stand
Promote your business here - Businesses get highlighted throughout the site and you can add a deal.
I've used them forever just because they were who we used, but I'm starting to wonder about extra fees, etc that seem to be creeping into my bills. The techs are usually fine, but I'm thinking about switching suppliers. Any ideas? Thanks!
