Adobe is not allowing edits/changes!

I was emailed a blank form in PDF format for info to be typed into various boxes . Typed in info, saved and sent to recipient. Yesterday, recipient said some info needed to be changed. No problem, so I thought. When I go to my saved Adobe file, I cannot "edit" or change the information at all. I'm going nuts! I go to the box where the info needs to be changed and cannot highlight to erase. I use edit PDF and although it creates a "box" for me to type into, the info is being placed over what is already there and still, I cannot erase original wording. I'm using Acrobat Pro. What am I doing wrong?

When you save a pdf, what you get is a picture of the form you completed. You need to convert the form to an editable format to make the changes; or, start over with a new blank form.

With Acrobat Pro, you should be able to edit, but have no idea why you can't. Maybe 'originator ' set it up so as not to allow updates.

The form could be data protected. Is there a link entitled "enable edits"?
