The young man playing bass here is a true musical genius. His name is Joshua Lee Turner. I've been following him for about a year now. He started uploading videos when he was about 15 and is now 26. Over those years he has uploaded around 300 to 400 videos. He plays superb guitar and about a dozen other instruments as well. Hes doe lots of excellent covers and has written  many great songs of his own.  He plays just about every kind of music there is.  Also frequently collaborates with  many other superb musicians as he does above. This link will take you to some of his stuff.  https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL_-YkHMlMW8lrEQ9ARlEYvPXEkHnIKqCx

My first band-in-car YouTube video is still my favorite cover. Rhianna's Umbrella, believe it or not.

Can't embed. The spoils of success. It's so much more than the original. At 3:25-ish the second guitarist flubs some fingering. You can see her react with a sort of subtle determination and she builds to 5:25 and the vocals are haunting to the point that you want to re-listen to the lyrics because the music didn't match the lyrics in Rhianna's version.

When I first watched the video I was overall impressed by the band but completely floored by Turner's skill on the bass; it seems quite natural to him judging by his laid back relaxed attitude.  He is doing a number of things at once.  YT commenters noted that it's not easy to sing and play the bass, a backbone of practically any song. (Granted I have no musical training, but I've always been over the moon for the bass guitar.  I'm in ecstasy for a good bass line and search out online tutorials.  For two examples, check out the magnificent bass lines on Bobby Womack's "Woman's Gotta Have It" (Mike Leech) and Paco Pastorius on Joni Mitchell's "Coyote.")

I've been listening it "Stuck in the Middle" on repeat.

I'm now obsessed with Josh Turner videos! Here's another great one:

Reminds me what an under appreciated and creative guitar player Stephen Stills is. All that wonderful guitar work in Suite: Judy is his.

Gainesville FL produced more than its share of great rock & roll guitarists.  Stills, Mike Campbell, Don Felder.

trivia:  Don Felder was Tom Petty's guitar teacher.
