In Search of Belonging: A Talk with Author Jillian Baez

Jillian Baez is the author of In Search of Belonging: Latinas, Media, and Citizenship. The book explores the ways Latina/o audiences in general, and women in particular, make sense of and engage both mainstream and Spanish-language media. Ms Baez will be in conversation with Ed Morales, author of Latinx: The New Force in American Politics and Culture, which explains how Latinx political identities are tied to a Latin American history of “mixedness” and that this is a key to understanding bilingual, bicultural Latin cultures and politics and a challenge to America’s racial regime.
