Our January title isSister Carrie by Theodore Drieser. Published in 1900 and considered one of the greatest American urban novels, Sister Carrie chronicles a young woman’s rise from obscurity to fame, and the effects of her progress on the men who use her and are used by her. Drieser shows the vast ebb and flow of forces which sway human destiny.
